Choir Tour to Denmark from 9th September 2017 to 23rd September 2017

The choir will tour Denmark from 9th September 2017 to 23rd September 2017. The purpose of the tour is to give members of the Nairobi Chamber Chorus, (NCC) who are all young, educated semi-professional musicians the opportunity to travel to Denmark so as to experience the rich musical culture of Denmark and also to share Kenya's music with Danish communities.

The project aims to promote intercultural exchange and expand the Kenyan musicians' knowledge by introducing them to the rich Danish music culture through direct contact with Danish choirs of high professional standard and village choirs. In addition to delivering the rich Kenyan (African) music to the Danish people through a number of concerts and lectures to be held for the students at musical and common educational centers in Denmark. The tour is jointly funded by the Horne Mandskor Choir, Denmark and the Royal Danish Embassy, Nairobi, Kenya

Sunday 10th September

16.00: The NCC participates in musical service at Horne Kirke.

Monday 11th September

14.00: Official welcome by the Lord Major at the old Town Hall of Faaborg.

19.30: Concert at the “local area evening” – Faarbog Continuation School

Tuesday 12th September

Evening concert at the Odd Fellow Lodge at Nonnebakken.

Wednesday 13th September

Evening concert at Haarby Kirke (Church) arranged by the Lions Club Haarby and the parochial church council.

Thursday 14th September

Evening concert at Assens Kirke, (Church) arranged by the parochial church council.

Saturday 16th September

Welcome concert, (20 minutes) in front of the Red Cross Building at the town square in Faaborg. (Time to be communicated)

16.00: Concert at the Cultural Centre in Korinth.

Sunday 17th September

15.00: Concert at Faaborg Kirke, (Church) arranged by Lodge no. 99 Mentor.

Monday 18th September

Visit to Lego in Egtved.

Tuesday 19th September

Concert at the Sosu School in Svendborg.

Evening concert in Svendborg.

Thursday 21st September

10:00: Visit and concert at the musical high school St. Annæ in Valby.

Friday 22nd September

Guided tour in the Parliament Building.

Visit the old city at the centre of Copenhagen with “Runde Tårn”, i.e. the round church tower of the famous old “Trinitatis Kirke”.

16.30: Concert in the at “Trinitatis Kirke” church.
